VESUVIUS BLOWS ITS TOP!!!

In August, 79 AD, the massive volcano, Mt. Vesuvius erupted, destroying cities and ending lives in swift destruction...One of the amazing stories of ancient history, ths story is one of sadness, but it will leave you in wonder and awe, knowing that this is historical fact, not fiction...
On Monday, read the eyewitness account from the first site listed and write a brief summary, giving your feelings about the event and what you learned. For Tues-Fri, look at site two and read through all of the sections starting with the Introduction and on through each section until you finish the section on Pompeii...Read at your own pace, but EACH day, write a brief summary of what you learned and what impressed you the most...The third site allows you to take a visual tour of various areas of ancient Rome - use it for fun - no assignment is attached to it...
Midterm grades will be e-mailed to you all on Tuesday...Have fun !!

Social Order in Ancient Rome

Visit the site below and look for the 8 sections to the right in the " Social Order "section...Each day, read a section and write a BRIEF summary of what you learned...In addition this week, talk to any 3 people and ask them to give you 10 events in world history that they believe were of tremendous significance/importance. Try to have no more than five events from Biblical history and 5 from world history in general... Include your own choices as well and bring that list to class next week...Have a great week in the highways and byways of Ancient Rome...
